Illustrator Text Effects
Creating a currency text effect in Illustrator might sound a bit complicated at first, but it’s actually a quick and straightforward task, thanks to the versatile Appearance Panel. This visually striking effect is particularly useful for enhancing headlines in posters, social media designs, web banners, and even print materials. Today, I’ll show you how to create this captivating effect in just a few minutes, keeping your text fully editable, adaptable for any project, and requiring no advanced Illustrator skills.
Open Illustrator and make a new file at any size you want. In this case, I will make mine at 1800 x 1200 px.
Select the Type Tool (T) and type your text using any font you wish. Here I will be using "Texas Tango" at 225 pt.
With your text selected go to Window > Appearance.
Click on the "Add New Stroke" icon.
Set any color you want for your stroke (I will set mine to #318d54) and set the Stroke Weight to about 4 pt.
Select the second Stroke and set it to any color you wish (I will set mine to #051f0b) and give it a 10 pt Weight.
With the seond stroke layer selected, click on the "Add New Effect" icon, and from the dropdown menu select Distort & Transform > Transform.
Apply the following settings and click OK.
Select the Fill layer ad apply any color you like for your text, in this case I will set mine to #5b7446.
Click on the "Add New Fill" icon.
Click on the down arrow icon next to the color thumbnail, the click on the "Swatch Libraries Menu" icon and from the dropdown menu select Patterns > Basic Graphics > Basic Graphic_Lines.
Lastly in the Basic Graphic_Lines window pick any texture you like, in this case I will use the "10 lpi 30%".
