Low Key Photoshop Action

Low Key is a photographic style that uses (mostly) dark tones to create a dramatic looking image. With the Low Key Photoshop Action, giving your colored or black and white picture a low key look it is very easy. You just need to open your image and click the play button in the actions panel to give any image type a low key look & feel.

Made for both beginners and advanced users, all you have to do is select the action and click on the Play button, wait a fw seconds and adjust the applied settings to your liking.

Right after the action finish, you can adjust shadows and lights (as well brightness and contrast) on the already made curves that affects only a certain part of the image, which let you control every aspect of it.

How to install:

1. Open Photoshop
2. In the Actions Panel click on the top right icon and from the dropdown menu select "Load Actions".
3. Locate the "Medialoot - Low Key.atn" file and click on Load.

How to use:

1. Open your image. Be sure that is set as the background (if not, go to Layer > New > Background from Layer)
2. In the Actions Panel expand the "Medialoot - Low Key" action container.
3. Select the "Low Key" action and click on the play button.
4. Once the action finish the process, you may adjust the Brightness and Contrast, fine tune the Shadows and Highlights using the curves, and turn on/off the color layer to bring back the original colors to the image.
