this themes is awesome and the fact that its free makes it that much more amazing. great job guys.
really nice theme.i’m using it for my web site now…
the only problem is the way the images load into the slider.
on slow connection they are shown until they are all loaded and then the slider start to work.
this NIVO slider, so why this is happen!?
for example, in this site: http://www.walterapps.com/
there is also NIVO slider (older version) and it doesn’t happen.

Sorry for the late reply, I think you may used the whole package instead of just the theme folder, when you unzip you get a folder called “Parallax Theme” (which is quoted in your error) with the quick start guide in it and another folder called “parallax” you need to use the “parallax” folder.

I had a look into it, and there is definitely a way to hide the images while they load and display a loading graphic instead as is done on walterapps.com and the default themes that come with nivo slider, I created this theme myself though and didn’t implement that feature, hopefully we get can get out an update to this theme quite soon that does include that function.
If you want a quick fix, download nivo slider from the official site and install one of the default themes instead, the general appearance will be different but the loading problem will be sorted.

I’ve really just installed the theme so I haven’t had too much time to tinker with it but I really like it.

You appear to have stumbled upon a bug that I missed. It has been fixed and updated now though, so if you download the package again, and update the theme (or more specifically just archive.php) it should be fixed.

Great theme. Although I have a slight issue with the portfolio template.
I’m a photographer and a writer. I want to have the one category for my photography - works great.
But the writing category under portfolio theme is only displaying the image, not the text.
Is there anyway to get it to just display the text? I don’t really wish to use the blog page for my written work.

Hi I’m totally new to Wordpress and I really like the look of this theme but can anyone tell me if there’s no contact page in the demo does that mean that you don’t get one with the theme?

@Jake: There isn’t a built-in feature for this, but you can edit the css to give the logo a background image and text-indent: -5000px to hide the text.
@Martin: There isn’t a built-in contact form feature either, but I recommend installing the Contact Form 7 which makes it really easy to add a contact form to any WP site.
Great theme.
Is there a way to slow down the slider on the homepage or to even make it stop all together so people just click on the arrow to see more slides. Can’t find a way to do that.

Hi, in parallax theme settings, which is the correct pat to the images which I want to show into the slider? I put some 930x350 images in the images folder, but what I have to write ?

I think the style.css not found problem could be Wordpress 3.3 related as it’s only started being reported lately. Can anybody with the problem please confirm which version of WP you are running? and I’ll look into it further. The style.css file is definitely in the package though.

Okay, I’ve managed to re-create the style.css not found error by choosing the “Install Themes” in Wordpress and uploading the medialoot-parallax-wordpress-theme.zip file.
If you are doing this then that’s the problem. The theme is in a folder within the main .zip.
To fix: Unarchive the medialoot-parallax-wordpress-theme.zip file, find the folder called parallax, and compress it, then upload that in the Install Themes section.
OR: re-download the file from here, as I’ve now pre-zipped the folder that needs to be uploaded
OR: read the Quick Start guide included for installing with FTP

Great theme. Very beautiful design. I am having difficulty changing the header text to the image I am trying to use as a logo. The best I have been able to do is to change the background image of the header, but that results in postioning problems relative to the rest of the site. I tried looking around in the header php, but I can’t seem to figure out how that’s set up. Is there an easy way to change the header text into an image that is both clickable and not a background? Thanks

just a heads up, the slider image needs to be 960x450, not 930x350 as instructed in the dashboard. at least, so it seems to me. any thoughts?

I use your theme to make a site for a friend (it’s great!).
Now I tried to change the color of some fonts in the stylesheet, but this doesn’t seem to work.
Is it not possible to change the style.css?

Hey guys, I’ve noticed a few comments asking about modifying the appearance of the theme. Unfortunately there isn’t any in-built functionality for doing this, everything is pretty much as it is.
So any edits such as changing the background will need to be done by directly modifying the style.css file.
Tony, how can i get rid of the slider thumbnails ive done most of it but when i view in chrome / explorer i get a red x but it does not show on Firefox.

I heed help with two things:
1) how to change the display menu, I mean , every time when i put new page , tham this page is added to menu in alphabetical mode , how to change this, because i want to have got menu in my order
at the moent there is something like:
a-word b-word c-word d-word
and i need :
c-word a-word d-word b-word
2) Menu is not visible in Internet Explorer web browser , all other (opera, chrome, safari etc ) are ok, only IE doesn’t work, how to change it

Fantastic theme and has worked great for me until recently.. Around the time I updated to wordpress 3.4 all of my pages (excpet for the home page) give 404 messages. Do you have any ideas? Is there an update on this for WP3.4.1 or is it something that I’ve done (or not done). My blog posts have followed the same routine that worked from the beginning but now no pages work.

The prettyPhoto gallery doesn’t show its arrows to go back and forth from one image to the other. I guess it is because each image is an individual post. Any ideas on how to make it work?

You can set an order on the different pages. Home = 0, products = 2, beer = 3 and so on. So edit the page and you find it at the right side..

I’ve just started getting into it and building my site using this and I was wondering if there was a way to link the jquery images to a URL? I might be missing something obvious here, all I could see was a link for the image to appear in the slider but not a target URL.
