Free Foil Engraving Art Photoshop Effect

Apply realistic foil engraving effects to images with this effect for Photoshop. Engraving Art is a real world craft in which a tool is used to scrape away lines on a board and reveal the underlying foil. You can emulate this technique using our Foil Engraving Art Photoshop Effect.

How to use

1. Open 'Foil Engraving Art Photoshop Effect.psd' in Photoshop CS6 or newer
2. Double click on the 'Image' smart object layer thumbnail
3. Replace the sample image with your own photo
4. Save and close the smart object
5. Turn on or off the visibility of layers in the 'Adjustments' group

Tips for use

IMPORTANT: Please note that the image you use must have a high level of detail for the effect to work correctly. 

For example, an animal with lot's of fur or a building with detailed brickwork will look fantastic. An airbrushed portrait with flawless skin will not work as well. This is because the effect will probably only pick up the hair, eyes and mouth. Areas of an image which do not have any detail will appear black.
