Status Update: A Sneak Peek Of The MediaLoot Site Design

We’ve been hard at work lately, gathering resources, working with some awesome designers and of course, working on the actual site design.
We thought it’d be nice to show you guys what the MediaLoot website will look like once we launch.
Header Section
Of course since MediaLoot will be a membership site, the header section needs to have many elements that are common to paid membership sites. Things like a login form and a drop-down ‘browse’ menu item were no-brainers.
The top navigation menu will change depending on whether a visitor is logged in or not. For example, logged in users don’t need to see the ‘tour’ menu item, this will be for logged out users and new visitors.
We also wanted to have a welcome message with a strong call to action. Check out the screenshots below ↓
Discussion Forums and Blog
In order to get user feedback and get some interesting discussions going (we’re all about the social stuff, ya know) there will be a section on the homepage that displays the latest forum and blog posts as you can see in the following screenshot ↓
The Footer
I personally like big footers that show additional information about the site I’m visiting. So, on MediaLoot, the footer will contain some information about the site, links to Twitter, Facebook and RSS, a sitemap/menu and a newsletter signup form.
What Do You Think?
We’re actively working on the design and back-end, but we’d like to know what you think. Of course, this was just a sneak peek - there’s much more under the hood ![]()
Any feedback, ideas, thoughts? Please take a minute to chime in and share your thoughts below!
Cheers
Jon

Looking good! Love the icons in the navigation
I’m pretty excited. I don’t subscribe to many membership sites like this for design resources but I am looking forward to learning more about pricing. The materials you have already released have been a nice tease!
I like it! The color scheme is really soothing on the eye- its in harmony, and spending time browsing on the site would be a pleasure. I LOVE THE HOME PAGE WITH THE BOX AND WORDS COMING OUT! I like the call to action too! I like the large icons on the menu, but the navigation on the homepage to me fights a little with the call to action title. As if there are too much large text on the page and my eye doesn’t know where to look first. Maybe a smaller menu and smaller menu items/links. And a pet peeve- I would align the sign in/sign up menu with the last word on the nav(moving the signup area items left, since the menu is aligned with the title and call to action). Your site is minimal and so neat, it throws it off without the alignment of the two elements. I think a white background on the forums and discussion page would work better- more easy to read. Maybe a box around it forum threads. And How about a rotating jquery box with an image for the Latest Resources and Blog posts? Like the one found here…http://themedemo.indonez.com/Agivee/ Images(something visual) grab my attention more in terms of resources and blog topics. I like the footer as well. The site map is a bit confusing to me, the lines make it too detailed, like its something I have to analize, makes me think too much. Why not just provide the words and have people click on them.
Good work guys! Keep it up!!! I cant wait to see and use the site!
This looks great. Nice work on the design Mason
I love footer site map…

wonderful design and looking forward to your launch!
was just wondering what fonts you used for the headers/large text?
Looking forward to the launch. Thanks for the freebies!
