New on Medialoot: Better Categorization, Improved Navigation, and More

Besides creating amazing new graphic design resources, we’re always striving to improve the Medialoot website so you can have the best experience possible. We’ve recently implemented a couple important changes on the site to speed up the searching process and improve your browsing experience.

Sticky Navigation

New sticky navigation bar on Medialoot

Since the big redesign, we recently made the navigation at the top stick to the top, so you can easily search for other resources and blog posts no matter where you are on the site.

Better categorization

The improvements with the sticky navigation bar are only the beginning: we’ve spent a lot of time combing through the thousands of resources to better categorize them in an intuitive way.

Our navigation bar now includes five main categories: User Interface, Graphic Art, Icons, Fonts, and Print. We also have a handy link in the nav bar to our incredibly popular Freebies collection.

Even better, each main category also has subcategories available as a drop-down item. Below is a breakdown of how the navigation bar is categorized currently.

Graphic Art

Brushes, Textures and Backgrounds, Vectors, Illustrations, Patterns, and Styles and Effects - including actions, gradients, plugins, effect generators, panels, button styles, and more.

Fonts

We want to make sure you can find exactly what you're looking for, no matter where you are on our site.

Once you're browsing through one of our categories, you can use the sidebar to sort and filter by sub categories, resource types, and file types.

As always, if you don't see a resource you're looking for, you can suggest a new resource by clicking our lightbulb icon in the footer.

Favorites and Lightbox

As a Medialoot member, you can easily flag your favorite resources for later, or create your own collections of design resources by creating your own Lightbox. While this isn't a new feature, it's one that I've started using recently and wanted to make sure you're aware of this helpful functionality as well.

Once you're logged in as a member and are viewing an individual resource, you can easily favorite an item by clicking the heart right above the main preview image. This is a great way to flag resources on the go, so you can remember to download them later when you're at your main workstation. When you're ready to view your favorites or items you've placed in your lightboxes, just click on your name in the header and click on My Lightboxes or My Favorites.

Learn more about the faces behind Medialoot

Ever wonder who is behind Medialoot? Rest assured, we aren't robots (although being a robot would certainly have its perks at times).

We have one more quick (and fun) update to share: You can now learn more about the team!

The Medialoot Team

We're working hard on even more improvements for you. We'd love to hear what you think in the comments below.

You can also always tweet us @Medialoot or chat with us on Facebook. In fact, we'd love to know what your favorite Medialoot resources are on our Facebook poll.

And remember, we're always looking for great tutorial writers and designers to add to the team.
